I take mine to the vets at the first sign of trouble,this usualy shows as a tightness of the abdomen and a lot of panting.
My vet gives a cortisone injection and pain relief for 1 week ang I make sure its cage rest for 2 to 3 weeks.
I can say I havnt had a need to put any dogs to sleep for this problem and I`ve had pekes for 28 years.
