First of all I am very sorry to hear about your loss, it
is heartbreaking . As per suggestions to your other pekes, we must
remember that pekes are not outside dogs, although they do love some
time running about outside, the heat is very hard on them, and they can
get over heated very easily, also the wind is very harmfull to their
eyes, when dust particles carried on the wind gets in their eyes.
You should also not allow pekes to use stairs, an easily built ramp can
be made , covered with carpeting,will be alot easier on your peke.
Slipped discs can be treated by your vet with cortisone teatments and
complete bed rest, quite successfully. Although once it happens it can
re-occure intermittedly, with the proper steps taken like:, no stairs,
not allowing them to jump up on and off furniture, they can still live
long and happy lives.Best of luck with your other pekes.
