hi:
I can tell you from being an owner that these are sturdy dogs and love to walk, on flat surfaces. No stairs. They are prone to back problems. My female peke would walk a distance and when she got tired she would stop and want to be carried. DShe made her feelings known. Think baby here. The 2 year old who has walked enough and wants to be carried.
