Hi.
A relative of mine is thinking of getting a pekingnese (she thinks they're adorable) and she is under the impression that they do not shed. Is that true? This is important because 3 of her grandchildren have asthma and she wanted to get a dog that does not shed.
What is their temperament like? Are they friendly, loyal, and snuggly? Do they respond well to children (these children respect dogs and do NOT abuse them, but they sometimes get a little OVER-huggy and affectionate!) Do they get along well with other small breed dogs?
I was reading some on the Q&A about slipped discs.... is that something inherent to this particular breed? Is there a high possibility of that happening?
Do they snort while sleeping or have breathing problems like pugs do?
