I agree also with finding out about the peke's background if possible. I recently bought a pekingese and was worried about it getting along with my 4 year old german shepherd. After a rough first day or two they are now best buddies. In fact,
one won't go anywhere without the other. It's wonderful. If you decide to get this peke, a word of caution, don't expect the peke to be happy immediately, give it some time to get accustomed to everything including you and the other dog. Patience I think would be the key here. Good luck!!!
