> I was fortunate enough to be given two peke puppies by a good friend, John Shaw. John is the owner of a Pekingese that is now the top winner in the world. Perhaps you may have seen a picture of the peke or have heard of him. His name is ENG/AM/CAN/DUTCH/ASIAN Champion Shiarita Emperor Roscoe.

> What do I do? Do you have a suggestion? Are there other pekes in America that are descendents of either the Shiarita, Yakee, or Jamestown lines? These are some of the names I got off the pedigree of my puppies.

It depends on what you are going to do with the "girls". Are they going to be your companions? Will they be roaming free throughout the house when they are in heat and bleed on your carpet and furniture? Or do you have a decent place to keep them while they're in heat that will not stress them out? They come into heat twice yearly about 10-14days per heat. Do you want the expense of a stud dog? Do you want the expense of advertising the puppies? (No matter than friends and acquaintances say they want one when they have puppies, they RARELY do get a puppy). Pekingese, at times do need c-section births. Do you have the extra money that will cost and the time for the extra care that will entail? These are all reasonable questions to ask yourself. Oh yes I forgot, can you guarentee that your girl will not accidently, in anyway whatsoever not come in contact with an unwanted male of any species and I do mean guarentee it. I am not discouraging you from breeding your girls. But, it is alot to think about. There are many plus sides to offset the negitive, but, only you can decide what YOU want. No matter their breeding - they're now YOUR babies. Good luck and let me know what you decide.
