Music is very important to us. We both sang in and directed a choir at St. John's Catholic Chapel at the University of Illinois. A lot of people don't realize just how much good, contemporary music for worship services exist! The vast majority of our music came from a collection called "When Love Is Found" by David Haas and Jeanne Cotter, available from GIA Publications. David Haas is the composer of many wonderful contemporary songs used widely in Catholic churches across the country. Jeanne Cotter is an outstanding pianist and composer, and her instrumental pieces are truly unique. A MIDI file of her arrangement of "Love is the Sunlight," our bridal procession, is available here.

If you looked closely at the music, you'll see that we indeed sang at our own wedding. We fell in love with this piece the first time we heard it, and decided we'd do our best to calm our nerves and do it. It turned out to be the most emotional part of the wedding. We remembered all the words, didn't crack, and there was not a dry eye left in the house.
