Our Peke, Seymour, (a female) lived to be 18-1/2. At 11 she had back surgery, and at 16 she lost the use of her back legs, we got a canine cart, then our Barnaby had 2 pups, Seymour, began walking again to keep away from the pups. She was a larger, sturdier peke, and walked about 5 miles per day with my husband. Our Barnaby, who was a tiny peke, lived till 1/5/98 and was only 11. We'd hoped to have Barnaby til 18-1/2 too.
