After he has eaten he will go and get this ball and lay on the floor and suck this ball as though he is nursing. Can you tell me anything about this habit? Answer to why the dog would suckle toys. Well probably the dog was separated from the litter too early. All dogs can develop this habit. I had a yellow lab that continued this trait past puppyhood. He would suck at my fingers if he felt upset or lonely. Eventually outgrew it. A strange sight, seeing 75 pounds of dog, so this. Not to worry.
