First you have to look at the genetics behind the dog for coat. Then you
need to feed a good premium dog food. I always supply my petpup buyers
with a good wire PINBRUSH, no plastic. Pekes should always be sprayed
lightly with water & conditioner to prevent coat breakage while brushing.
Start at the head brushing upwards to the head in SMALL sections, make
parts (see the skin)along the way. Do not press hard, but gently to only get one
small section at a time. I brush 1-2 times a week, but I'm trying to keep
show coats. I like to use Oster or Biogroom products for shampoo and
conditioner. I only shampoo once a month because a good brushing will
keep them clean. Good luck!
