> Please HELP! I have a peke boy who will only use his potty paper when HE wants to. I have twelve 4 week old rotts in my closet and washroom (hard tile floors), so I can't put Dalton and Gretchin in there at night. I have been sopping up the urine (in the wall to wall carpeting of course) and using witch hazel on it. But, I need something better. My husband (and I must confess, myself) is getting irate.

We have had two pekes and each was kept "caged" until we were sure they were potty trained.
The way we did it was to purchase a baby gate, like the kind used to keep small children from
falling down stairs, etc. When we left the house we would put the dogs in
the kitchen or bathroom and put the gate up. That way they were not confined in a completely
closed off area and could see and hear what was going on. At night we would also put them back
into the area and they slept there. Upon getting home or arising in the
mornings we automatically took the gate down and took them outside. We were also able
to take the gate with us when vacationing or visiting people and it keep then from going into area we
didn't want them to.
