Pekes and other dogs. As an experienced breeder, exhibitor of pekes I
can only say each dog is an individual, and this goes for all breeds.
First your dogs must understand who is boss or as we say, "alpha" THAT
SHOULD BE YOU. Luckily, pekes were bred for centuries to live the royal
life. This meant they roamed the palaces by the hundreds (together).
For the most part they are still very sociable little dogs. I have 6
boys that run together however they all have separate eating areas. It
is always advisable to introduce dogs new to each other on neutral
grounds. It may take time but it can work. My dogs are to the point that
any new dog is no big deal. That is good for me since I occassionally
handle show dogs for other people. Another consideration is getting a
peke thru a Rescue committe. They are assessed for behavior & health.
Contact me further if interested in a rescue peke. hyapeke@pcom.net
