Jennifer, Did your dog perhaps originate from a puppy mill? They are forced to relieve themselves in their environment. They have no alternative. Begin your training over again. Labs are very intelligent. Read a few books. It will give you confidence. In the meantime, start over, try confining her to a room instead of her crate, take her out (go with her), instruct her to potty and praise her when she does. Take her out before and after eating, drinking, sleeping, and playing. When you take her into the other part of the house, leash her to you and take her with you from room to room. She'll love being with you and should not be willing to relieve herself in front of you. Take her out frequently. You'll have her cured in just a week or two. Train her with gentleness and praise. You can do it. Good luck.

> I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OF INTEREST FOR YOU TO KNOW THAT MY DOG DOES RELEAVE HERSELF IN HER CAGE. WE TRIED MAKING THE CAGE SMALLER BY PUTTING IN CARDBOARD
> THIS SEEMS TO BE MAKING THING BETTER BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. SHE IS A 14 WEEKS OLD LAB. SHE ENJOYS RELEAVING HERSELF IN THE HOUSE EVERY NOW AND THEN TO. BECAUSE OF THIS I HAVE TO WATCH HER ALL THE TIME AND CAN NOT GET ANYTHING DONE. PLEASE E-MAIL ME WITH A SUGGESTIONS.
