I have 2 Pekingese-both had back problems; one recovered; one had enzymatic disc fusion.
The best thing to do is keep the dog CONFINED in a baby pen for one week + Prednisone which alleviates the swelling.
Also...I had acupuncture performed which was successful on one of my dogs. If the disc is herniated, acupuncture is
not successful. And, by all means, NEVER let the Peke climb stairs of any kind; nor jump up/down on beds, furniture, etc.
