My peke is 5 years old and suddenly started to throw up on June 8 and it progressively got worse. He was admitted to the hospital and they could not find out what was wrong with him. They gave him fluids - his electrolytes were way off. They did x-ray, barium series, blood tests and finally exploratory surgery. They found he had - by the process of elimination - irritable bowel syndrome - Finally the vomiting stopped. he was on flagyl for inflammation but what we found worked was very small meals 3 or 4 times a day. Dry purina chow (senior) for fiber and either strained low fat beef or senior mighty dog - alittle. Cracked ice for the day and monitor the water. We spent a lot of money and dietary contraints worked the best. IT seems to be set off by eating grass or other delicious items found outside.
