> > Why does it matter if they're a registered breed???? I have a black peekapoo and he's the most lovable puppy anyone could ever aks for. Peekapoo's are a wonderful, friendly small dog. Better than a peke in my opinion. The man I got him from is no longer breedinh his female; I got aa pup ffrom tthe last litter. I hooppe you find one in your area in Dallas. If you wwant one,, get one, no matter what anyonne says.

Look into your local peke shelter, these web pages or post a listing for a loving home for an older dog no longer vital to someone's breeding program but still in need of a great home. Be prepared to have a sterilized dog as most RESPONSIBLE breeders sterilize their dogs before sending them to a home that though they approve of, they can't control!
> Okay, Firstly Desiree...It matters because breeding a dog is not something to be taken lightly. These are living creature and should not be brought into this world just because someone thinks that the two parents would make 'cute' babies. There are thousands of dogs in shelters and rescues that need a good home. Dogs that are just like these little 'pekepoos' and other 'poo' dogs. Mongrels, crossbreeds, mixes..what ever you want to call them. They do make great pets but, what I (and I'm sure everyone else who is concerned) has against them is that these people are BREEDING them. It's not an accident, they planned the birth. These pups who may never find a home....these pups who might end up in shelters with the rest of the unwanted doggies. Also, just because one peke + poodle turns out great and doesn't shed DOES NOT mean that all of them will. You can't guarantee that all the peke + poodle mixes will turn out the same. Once again these are MONGRELS, CROSSBREEDS, MIXES...the look of the pups can never be guarenteed. Neither can the temperament or health. Only a very irrisponsible person would experiment with living creatures like this!! Once again, I will say that a mongrel or mix breed dog can make a great pet. I have a mongrel myself and she is a wonderful dog but, I would never ever encourage people to breed mixbreeds and I would never buy one from someone who did. For the sake of the pups themselves. And if not for the pups...for the parents..for the bitches who become puppy machines.
