My pekingese dog is a year old. She just turned a year may 19th, 1998. I've heard from people that the average weight for a pekingese is 14 pounds. Well my pekingese is about 21 pounds. I keep her food dish full so when she gets hungry she can eat. She always seems hungry. Then when i give her food she swallows it whole, and seltemly she chews it. The only thing she really chews is her dog food. But puppy treats I give to her when she goes to the bathroom outside, she comes in the house and she gets a doggy treat for going to the bathroom outside. I give her one and she just swallows it whole. Doesn't even try to chew it. Can you suggest anything?? She is over weight?? What is the Average weight for a Pekingese??
