I would take the peke to the vet to see what is causing the itching before doing anything. If it's flea bites it would be better to use a flea spray (I like Ovitrol). If it's allergies, you need to remove the allergen from his environment. If it's food, you can change diets. If it's a skin fungus, you need a specific fungicide. I nearly lost a peke one time on oral Ivomec--she was totally toxic, had to be hospitalized, and just barely made it. Be careful!
