As long as he only barks when they first arrive, I don't see it as a problem. If the barking continues too long, try either a soda pop can with a few beans in it to throw near him (they hate the noise) or a water spray bottle set on long range to squirt him either way firmly loudly saying NO.

This is a pekingese trait. Try putting him in an exercise pen or crate every time he starts a fight after loudly firmly telling him NO when you pick him up. I have some that I NEVER allow in the same room together and the two worst ones now seem to have gotten old enough (10) to outgrow it or maybe they're just too tired to care.
