> My peke is 18 yrs old. He has had seizures on and off (4 to 5x/yr) since he was three. They are very frightening. The first time it happened we thought he was dying or having a heart attack. So, we kinda gave him a mouth to nose. As he aged he had them less often and we never had it treated by a vet. Usually, when it happens we comfort him or take him outside, which is what he loves and perks right up. I don't know if this helps him but it helps me from feeling helpless. Sometimes I wonder how long it takes him to recover when we're not home because when I'm around it last about 30-40 secs. Sometimes it seems like he can't catch his breath but it looks different from the seizure because he makes snorkling sounds.
