My peke is 18 and has had seizures on and off (about 4 to 5x a year) since he was 3 yrs. old. They have slowed down over the years and we never did anything about them. At first we though he was having a hearth attack so we were almost giving him mouth to mouth. It gets very frightening. We usually pick him up and comfort him when it happens, take him outside which is what he loves. I don't know if it helps him but it helps me and he does bounce back when distracted. I never went to the vet but if it happened frequently, I would.
