AS a breeder owner and handler of pekes I would strongly urge you to buy a purebred from a reputable breeder. A reputable breeder will charge you as much, in some cases less than a pet store. The dogs are better cared for and have true and honest pedigrees. A reputable breeder will not only tell you the good points of a dog but also the bad parts. They will also offer you a lifetime of support should you have any questions concerning your dog after you get it home. Personally I don't feel it's right to allow dogs to breed uncontolled outside of their breed to create a mix. Reputable breeders dont breed on a whim, their breedings are done after studying the pedrigrees and getting information about the dogs in the pedigrees. A reputable will breed for temperament FIRST, everything else should be secondary. To get a list of breeders in your area go the American Kennel Club, akc.org website on the info dog website infodog.com. As a prospective owner never let price interfere with your decision making, expect to pay between $500.00 and $1000.00 for a pure bred peke, it's well worth the investment for a lifetime of unconditional love and never ending loyalty. Good luck, I hope you find the dog you are looking for. Keith
