pekes are not harder than any other puppy to raise if you are consistent and let them know who is the boss at all times. they are endearing and can rip your heart out with their eyes. they need grooming just as any dog to keep their coats healthy, they can be picky eaters if YOU let them be, but they only have eyes for you and stay by your side ,they rarely if ever wander. my peke loves everybody including the vet and the mail man but you must expose them. every breed has problems so forget the small stuff, get a peke,relax and enjoy your pup. also they are very smart, do not bark unless needed and train very well. What ever pup you get use a crate, i cannot stress the troubles it will save,read books on puppies and again relax!!!
