I have adopted 3 year olds twice. A female which I had for 8 years and loved dearly and a male which I have had for a little over a year and love. Red was badly abused, scared skittish and very skinny but is nowa wonderful loving and very happy and healthy peke. I would adopt again in a NY minute.
