Your dog is probably allergic to flea saliva. If there's one biting flea on your dog, he will die trying to scratch the bite then the spreading allergic reaction. The confirming second symptom is redness and irritation inside the ears. Ask your groomer to begin dipping him ever 6 weeks until all trace of fleas is gone. Spray your house as well. It takes a while but is well worth it.
